Australian Music Legend Brian Cadd Recovering After Stroke
Renowned Australian singer-songwriter Brian Cadd, aged 78, is currently recuperating in hospital following a haemorrhagic stroke at his Gold Coast residence. His family released a statement on Tuesday morning, expressing optimism about his early recovery signs but acknowledging the challenging journey ahead.
“At the end of last week, our dear Brian suffered a haemorrhagic stroke whilst at home on the Gold Coast,” the statement read. “Fortunately, he received medical attention quickly and he is currently under the care of the Gold Coast University Hospital. He is stable, and his medical team is monitoring his progress. While it will likely be a long road ahead, he is showing early, encouraging signs. We’d like to thank the wonderful team looking after him at the hospital and for everyone’s well wishes. We will keep everyone updated as his condition improves but kindly request privacy at this critical time.”

Brian Cadd has been an active figure in the Australian music scene for over six decades. His latest album, Dream Train, released in April 2024, achieved significant success by reaching number one on the ARIA Country Albums chart. In support of this album, Cadd maintained a busy touring schedule, performing as recently as March 2025.
