Australian Actor Nicholas Eadie Passes Away at 67
Australian actor Nicholas Eadie, who was known for his iconic performances in television and films, has died at 67. His death was confirmed by fellow actor and close friend Will Conyers on Facebook.
“I send my deepest sympathy to all those that were touched by this very special artist and human being,” Conyers wrote in his tribute.
Actor Garry Scale also shared his sorrow, noting, “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our friend Nicholas Eadie. Nick has been suffering from ill health for some time now and was recently diagnosed with diabetes. Please raise a glass or two tonight and remember the good times. We’ll all gather somewhere soon in a place with very loud music. Vale dear friend xx.”
A Legacy on Screen
Eadie was a graduate of NIDA in Sydney, one of Australia’s most prestigious drama schools His career skyrocketed with iconic television series like Cop Shop, The Henderson Kids, A Country Practice, and Medivac. On the big screen, he proved himself in films such as The Man from Snowy River II and Fragments of War in 1988 for which he was nominated for an AFI Award.
1987. Eadie featured in the Vietnam miniseries next to Nicole Kidman. Starring as Phil Goddard, who was a conscripted soldier badly traumatised by the atrocities of war, including serving through the destruction of a village in Vietnam, he won a Logie Award for Most Popular Actor in a Single Drama Miniseries. The series itself won Most Popular.

Eadie’s last on-screen credit was in the 2011 TV movie Underbelly Files: The Man Who Got Away. His on-screen shows are now part of Australia’s entertainment history, but his death signals the end of an era for fans and colleagues alike.
