In a shocking turn of events, Baloch militants hijacked the Jaffar Express in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, killing six soldiers and taking nearly 120 passengers hostage and a train carrying approx 500 passengers. The attack, which occurred on Tuesday, has sent shockwaves across the country as authorities scramble to respond.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), which has been waging an armed insurgency for independence, claimed responsibility for the assault. In a statement, the group declared that its fighters had meticulously planned the operation, targeting the train as part of their broader resistance campaign.

The militants ambushed the passenger train near Sibi district, forcing it to halt by bombing the railway track. As chaos ensued, armed fighters stormed the train, taking control of all passengers.
“If any military operation is launched to rescue the hostages, the consequences will be severe,” the BLA warned in its statement.”The occupying forces will be held responsible for any deaths.”
Six Soldiers Killed, Passengers Held Hostage
There were six deaths in the attack, and many more are still being held as prisoners. They did it with the help of three trained BLA fighting groups: the Majeed Brigade, the STOS, and the Fateh Squad. They promised to fight back against any military involvement.
As the situation continues, security forces are thinking about what they can do to help. Officials have not yet said how the rescue or talks will go. The situation is still tense because the lives of the prisoners are at risk. More information is being waited.
